Description:

For five months in the early 1860s, at the peak of the Civil War, Lewis Tighman Moore offered his antebellum home to Confederate Major General Thomas J. "Stonewall" Jackson. Jackson planned the defense of the Shenandoah Valley there, and other defenses, and today the site is a historic museum holding many of Jackson's belongings and artifacts. Located just east of Whittier Park, the gothic revival style cottage also boasts a beautiful view of downtown.

Mon. - Sat. 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., Sun. 12:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m.
